London: Essex batsman Ravi Bopara says he is fully prepared to play if the England selection committee selects him for England's first test of the summer against Bangladesh at Lords, starting on May 27.
Bopara has not featured in the five day format game since last summer but he took advantage of his selection for the second-string England Lions against the tourists at Derby by taking 7-23 in the match and scoring 28 in the second innings.
He believes he would be on top of his game if he is recalled in the side for the Test series.
"I've had no indication yet (from the selectors) but I'm just hoping and keeping my fingers crossed that I am in the squad," he said to skysports reporters.
"Hopefully there's a spot available there for me and I can take it, score some runs and set myself up for the summer. I'm not undercooked, I'm ready.
He also admitted that sitting out of the England side for a year has really helped him to become more competitive and he is hungry to perform well and get back into the England side.
