London, May 22: England batsmen Eoin Morgan insisted that he is ready to play Test cricket if given a chance in the Test series against Bangladesh starting next week.
Morgan had played an important role in the England middle order during the T20 World Cup in the West Indies.
“I"m more than ready for it if the chance comes, I"ve put myself in a good position. I feel I"m getting better and better and I see myself as a Test player in the future," The Sun quoted Morgan, as saying.
“I won"t be devastated if it doesn't happen right now because I am sure I will get a chance. It would be a dream to play in The Ashes this winter - the ultimate for a cricketer. It"s a long way away, but I feel I can take my attacking game into Tests and adapt," he added.
The 23-year-old, who turned his back on Ireland to play for England last year, believes he has a lot to offer at all levels.
“With the confidence I have shown in the higher levels of the one-day game and the Twenty20 then I think I have the mental game for the Test game," Morgan said.
If given chance to play against the Tigers and if he comes out with good performances, he stands a good chance to make it to the squad for the Ashes Series which he admits is his ultimate dream.
