London: England selectors have called for youngsters Eoin Morgan and Steven Finn in their 12-man squad for the first Test against Bangladesh, while Paul Collingwood will miss the two-match series through injury.
Irish born Morgan was a likely player to be selected after his good show in the recently concluded T20 World Cup and recent one-day internationals.
The selectors have also included his county colleague Finn, who retains his place as one of four front-line seam bowlers.
Stuart Broad has been rested for the series while regular skipper Paul Collingwood has been given time to recover from his shoulder injury which he suffered during their T20 World Cup campaign.
According to skysports reports, National selector Geoff Miller said, "Paul will undergo a period of rehabilitation for a shoulder injury and has been ruled out of the Test series against Bangladesh.
"We believe we've selected an exciting squad - and with Paul Collingwood and Stuart Broad taking no part in this series, the opportunity arises for a number of younger players to make a mark at Test level," he added.
