Mumbai: Suspended IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi is set to reply to the second show cause notice today, issued to him by the BCCI on May 6.
He was given an extension of 10 days by the BCCI to reply to the second cause notice after his acts "detrimental to world cricket" and his deadline is set to be today.
Mehmood S Abdi, Modi's lawyer said that Modi was intending to meet the deadline as he did while replying for the first cause notice.
“The volume of the reply depends on the issues raised. I don"t think the reply would be as voluminous (as the first). We will try to satisfy the Board (with the reply)," Abdi said to reporters
Modi had asked for the extension of 10 days in order to reply to the second show cause notice from the Board. He was issued the notice on May 6 on the basis of an e-mail received from England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) chairman Giles Clarke.
Abdi said the Board was yet to reply to Modi"s recent 14-page letter to BCCI president Shashank Manohar asking both him (Manohar) and secretary Srinivasan to rescue themselves from any future proceedings against the suspended IPL Commissioner.
Earlier, Modi in his letter had demanded for an independent Panel for his case, stating Manohar and Srinivasan having conflict interest towards him.
