Zimbabwe vs Sri Lanka, 3rd Match - Scorecard

Earlier the match was shortened to 26-over match because of the rain and the home team had set a modest 119 target for the Islanders to win.

Sri Lanka got off to a solid start with Dilshan and Upal Tharanga sharing a 86 run opening stand. Dilshan took full advantage of inexperienced Zimbabwe bowlers hitting a quick-fire 60 of just 45 balls with seven fours and a six while the Zimbabwe bowlers had no answer to his assault.

In the first innings off-spinner Suraj Randiv led a disciplined Sri Lankan bowling charge with three wickets for the Islanders restricting the Zimbabwe score to 118 runs.

He gave away 23 runs from 5 runs and was well supported by the other bowlers, Dilhara Fernando (2/26), Ajantha Mendis (2/21) and Jeevan Mendis (2/12).

Opener Hamilton Masakadza was the lone batsmen for Zimbabwe who managed to fare the Lankan bowlers scoring 62 runs off 69 balls with 4 fours and one six which was not enough in the end.

They lost their previous man of the match winner Brendon Taylor early in the second over and they got off to a slow start and lost wickets consistently on the middle overs while trying to up the scoring rate.
