Dambulla: India won against Pakistan in a nail-biting finish by 3-wickets with one ball to spare in the Asia Cup in Dambulla.
Chasing a target of 268 India suffered a major blow as early on as Sehwag was suffering from cramp while he was batting. He was limping and got a runner to continue his innings but was out soon.
Abdul Razzaq got the breakthrough for Pakistan as Sehwag tentatively tried to poke a ball just outside the line of off stump just managing to edge it to the wicket-keeper Kamran AKmal.

His opening partner, Gautam Gambhir coming into this match had played a good innings against Bangladesh. He continued on with his good form and played a solid knock along with captain Dhoni to lay a solid partnership for the fourth wicket. Earlier Gambhir and Sehwag had managed to see off the pace attack of Shoaib Akthar and Mohammad Aamir who kept it tight for the Indian batsmen.

Virat Kholi played a brief innings but was out bowled to Saeed Ajmal soon after coming in at Number 1.
Gautam gambhir however was firm and scoring runs at run-a-ball pace. He along with Dhoni put up a good partnership for India taking them closer to Pakistan target.
Dhoni at the other end picked the spinners well. He was using his feet well, coming down the track and hitting them straight and helped maintain the required run rate.
Ajmal finally bowled Gambhir out 17 short of his century, who was finding it hard to play the spinners. He did announce in the presentation ceremony that he was finding difficult to spot the spinners under light.
Sharma the next man in also chipped in with 22 runs and was looking good with his technique. However, he couldn't last long and fell exactly in the same fashion as he did during India's first match in Bangladesh.

Set batsmen Dhoni soon followed him, bowled by Shoaib Malik. Dhoni made 56 of 71 balls. All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja didn't last long as he fell to Ajmal.
At that moment of time Pakistan looked like they had an upperhand as India were under pressure with Raina and Harbhajan in the crease.
Suresh Raina chipped in with 34 invaluable runs off 27 balls. Coming in at Number 6, Raina kept his cool and Indian chase alive. Harbhajan at the other end looked like a proper batsmen.
However, In the final over with India needing 7 runs, India lost the crucial wicket of Raina who was trying to sneak a single was cut short of his crease, after Harbhajan failed to make contact of the ball.
Harbhajan kept his head and hit a six off the second last ball to help India seal a win by 3-wickets.
Saeed Ajmal was the pick of the bowlers for Pakistan. He picked up 3 wickets.
Gautam Gambhir was announced man of the match for his superb batting effort in the top order.
India now with this win qualify for the finals to be played against the Sri Lankans.
