Muralitharan calls it a day at last

Colombo: The legendary off spinner Muttiah Muralitharan decides to call it quits at last from all forms of International cricket here on Tuesday in Colombo.

Muralitharan will retire from International cricket after the first Test against India in Galle.

The first Test starts from July 18 of this month (July, 2010), followed by tri-series featuring India and New Zealand.

Muralitharan is the leading wicket taker in test cricket and ODI's with 792 wickets and 515 wickets respectively. He was also part of the World Cup winning team in 1996.

He will not play any international cricket but said he would be available for the 2011 World Cup if Sri Lanka need him.
