Edgbaston: Australia cricketers had to had to face rowdy scenes as some of the fans in the Pakistan contingent reportedly threw plastic drink bottles at them after they lost against Pakistan by 23 runs in the opening T20 match at Edgbaston.
Several bottles were thrown at the Australian team dugout, with vice-captain Cameron White having to intercept one of the missiles before it hit a teammate.
Captain Michael Clarke reported the incident to match officials and security staff, and as a result the on-field presentations were moved away from the boundary edge and closer to the centre of the ground, The Courier Mail reports.
The security is sure to be increased for the next T20 game between the two teams at the same venue on Wednesday.
Captain Clarke's miserable run of form in the shortest version of the game continued as he was dismissed cheaply for just five runs and the team was bowled out for 144 chasing Pakistan"s 167-8.
