New Delhi: Soon to retire spin wizard Muttiah Muralitharan has said among the current spinners, Indian ace spinner Harbhajan Singh can match his record of scalping nearly 800 wickets.
Muralitharan who had announced his retirement date on Tuesday saying that he will quit International test cricket after the first Test match against India scheduled to begin on July 18 at Galle, said the Indian off-spinner stood the best chance of emulating his feat.
"I think only Harbhajan can do this. I don't know how old is he and how long he will continue. But he is the only one who can achieve this feat in Test Cricket," Muralitharan said, according to TOI reports.
Muralitharan needs eight scalps in his final Test match to reach the 800-mark, as he has 792 wickets in 132 matches.
Meanwhile, Harbhajan Singh has 355 wickets from the 83 Test matches he has played so far.
