Pakistan elect to field first at Lords

Lords: Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi has won the toss and elected to bowl first against Australia in the first Test match between the two nations at Lords, London.

After more than an hour's delay due to wet ground conditions, the two skippers walked out in to the middle for Pakistan's 'home' Test series at a neutral venue.

Pakistan vs Australia, 1st Test - Scorecard

Both teams have two debutants each. Umar Amin and Azhar Ali make their debut for Pakistan, the Aussies have on expected lines given debuts to Tim Paine and Steve Smith.

Pakistan have not beaten Australia in a Test match since the win at the Sydney Cricket Ground in 1995. The second match of the two-Test series will be played in Headingley from July 21.

The squads:

Pakistan: Imran Farhat, Salman Butt, Azhar Ali, Umar Amin, Umar Akmal, Shahid Afridi (captain), Kamran Akmal (wk), Mohammad Aamer, Umar Gul, Danish Kaneria, Mohammad Asif.

Australia: Shane Watson, Simon Katich, Ricky Ponting (captain), Michael Clarke, Michael Hussey, Marcus North, Tim Paine (wk), Steven Smith, Mitchell Johnson, Ben Hilfenhaus, Doug Bollinger.
