Edgbaston: Pakistan fast bowler Umar Gul may miss out the rest of the Test series against England after suffering a hamstring injury during the ongoing second Test at Edgbaston.
The seamer sustained the injury when running in to bowl at Edgbaston and was withdrawn from action to be sent for a scan.
Pakistan managed to bowl England out for 251 in his absence, with off-spinner Saeed Ajmal taking career-best figures of 5-82 before Pakistan responded with 19-1 at the close of day's play.
“Umar has gone to hospital for an MRI and we will know later how long he will be out for but he will not play again in this game," team manager Yawar Saeed told a foreign news agency.
Left-arm speedster Wahab Riaz is on stand-by and is likely to replace Gul in the third match starting at The Oval on August 18.
