Sri Lanka vs India, Tri-series - Scorecard
The vice-captain had a different approach initially and was taking a cautious approach as wickets fell at the other end. In a demanding situation, when the Sri Lankan bowlers seemed to be getting all the right tricks, a rather determined Sehwag played with common sense and made sure he stayed till the end.
Sehwag was on 99* when scores were level and India needed just a single run. Off-spinner Suraj Randhiv overstepped by nearly a foot to deny Sehwag's 13th ODI ton, though he did manage to thrash that particular delivery into the stands but to no avail as India had already won the match through that no-ball.
India had earlier lost Karthik, incoming player Virat Kholi who was replacing Yuvraj Singh for the match, Rohit Sharma in quick succession and really looked in crises at that period of play.
The Indian bowlers had earlier come up with a good bowling effort in the first innings and had managed to restrict the hosts to a meager total of 170 runs.
