SL vs India : Preview

India and Sri Lanka face against each other for the second time in the fifth ODI of the Micromax Tri-series in Dambulla on Sunday. A must-win game for the home team as their game against New Zealand was washed out on Friday.

Sri Lanka has to win the game in order to give themselves a chance to qualify for the finals. Sri Lanka Cricket has been hit by controversies after the 'No-ball' incident involving Suraj Randhiv. The incident followed with another one, that involved skipper Kumar Sangakkara who was in the limelight for all the wrong reasons against their latest match against New Zealand. Sangakkara was caught colliding with Nathan McCullum.

Though he was later cleared by the match referee for the incident. Their seems to be tensions arising within the Sri Lankan camp and they will be hoping to dust off all the controversies behind and produce a win against the Indians.

If they lose, they will be out of the Tri-nations competition as New Zealand hold that advantage of winning the bonus point.

Suraj Randhiv who was left out of the team against New Zealand, serving a one match ban will be allowed participate against the Indians in the crucial tie. But it looks highly unlikely, especially after their match against New Zealand was washed out, and the Herath and Mendis got no chance to prove their mettle. So, Sangakkara might field with an unchanged side against the Indians.

India on the other side will also be hoping to leave all the controversies behind and concentrate in their game. After a morale lifting win against the home team, Dhoni and his men will be hoping to keep it disciplined and not let any chance for Sri Lanka to run away with the match.

Virender Sehwag who scored a valiant 99* in the previous outing againt the hosts will be hoping to continue on with his good form and take India to the finals. India still have a game in hand, against the Kiwis later but they would be hoping to confirm their place before hand and keep the winning streak going.

The Indians too is likely to field with the same winning combination.
