Mark Boucher and Justin Kreusch guided the Warriors to a terrific seven-wicket win over Wayamba in Port Elizabeth.
Chasing a target of 154, Boucher and Kreush put on a brilliant unbeaten partnership of 63 to upset the Sri Lankan opponents with 10 balls to spare.
Batting first Wayamba had got off to a worst possible start losing two wickets for two runs in the very first over including their experienced captain Mahela Jayawardene.
However, Jeevantha Kulatunga had hit a brilliant half century(59) for the visiting side with three sixes in his inningS. Kushal Perera had chipped in with a quick-fire 39 off just 24 balls with three sixes in his innings. The valiant efforts of the Wayamba duo were not enough to see them past the Warriors.
The pair of Boucher and Kreush were unstoppable and they came together with Warriors at 93 for three. Boucher hit two sixes and four fours in his 40 which came from 26 balls.
Kreusch scored his 37 from 29 balls and hit three boundaries. Colin Ingram coming in at No 3 had chipped in with a promising 34 of 28 deliveries before he was dismissed by Rangana Herath. Davey Jacobs opening the innings for the African side had hit 26 runs off 18 deliveries before being dismissed by Ajantha Mendis.
Rangana Herath was the pick of the Wayamba bowlers with one wicket for 18 runs from his four overs.
