Jacques Kallis's superb all-round performance helped Royal Challengers Bangalore seal a solid win over Guyana in the Champions League T20 at Centurion.
Guyana batting first got off to a shaky start and never managed to take control losing wickets at regular intervals and eventually were bundled out for 103.
Barnwell was the top scorer for team Guyana with 30 runs.
Jaques Kallis, Dale Styen and all the pacers for the team from Bangalore were superb with their line and length as the Guyana players struggled to tackle the bowling attack. Kallis was the pick of the bowlers as he picked up three wickets for RCB.
The spinners were not far behind as well as skipper Kumble and Doshi continued to keep it hard for the batsman.
Left-arm-spinner Nayan Doshi picked up the fifth Guyana batsman of Cranton. Doshi tossed the ball up to Cranton who went for a big shot but just managed to baloon the ball to Dale Steyn, the fielder at long off.
Chasing a modest target of 104, Jacques Kallis and Rahul Dravid opening the innings for the Royal Challengers got off to a perfect start.
Kallis was the man looking to take charge and was playing some wonderful strokes taking out all his experience against an inexperienced Guyana attack. Dravid was not far behind as well as he was finding boundaries with ease, stroking the ball delightfully.
Dravid was finally dismissed by R. Crandon after sharing a 78 run stand with Kallis, contributing 33 runs in the partnership. The bowler decieved him with a quicker delivery to dislodge the wicket.
Uthappa coming in at No. 3 to replace him was superb as well, as he hit a quick-fire 25 off just 8 deliveries.
He hit the winning runs to seal the game for Royal Challengers in just 12.2 overs, a win by 9 wicket margin.
Kallis at the other end finished at unbeaten 43.
Kallis was deservedly awarded the man of the match award for his superb all-round performance.
