Shetty's all-round show helps Bulls win Vs Mysore

Bijapur Bulls outplayed the Mysore Mahaarajas to defeat them by seven-wickets in the Mantri Karnataka Premier League(KPL) on Thursday in Manipal.

After winning the toss, the Mysore Mahaarajas had put up a decent total of 164 for 7 in their 20 overs. S Manager was the top scorer for the Mahaarajas with a delightful 59 off just 30 balls which included three fours and five sixes.

N Bille, CJ William had chipped in with 23 respective runs to help the Mahaarajas thread a total of 164.

For the Bulls, JP Shetty {3 for 40} and B Rajashekhar {3 for 28} were amongst the wickets.

Chasing a challenging target of 165, the Bulls suffered an early blow as they lost both their opening batsman with just one run on the board. However, a superb third-wicket partnership off 116 between JP Shetty and DT Patil brough them back in the contest and helped them win it eventually.

Shetty finished with unbeaten 76 off just 51 balls with six fours and four sixes. Patil scored 45 runs in 33 balls with 7 fours and a six.

Then JP Shetty and STR Binny added 48 runs in an unfinished stand to take the Bulls past the vitory margin with seven-wickets left in hand. STR Binny finished 28 not out off 19 balls with two fours and a six.

For the Mahaarajas, CS Raghavendra captured two wickets conceding 27 runs.

Scores(Summary): Mysore Maharaajas - 164 for 7 in 20.0 overs {S Manager 59, JP Shetty 3 for 40} lost to Bijapur Bulls - 165 for 3 {JP Shetty 76 not out, DT Patil 45, CS Raghavendra 2 for 27} by seven wickets.
