KPL: Diamonds edge past Bulls to enter semis

Chinnaswamy Stadium: Shamanur Davangere Diamonds pulled out a sensational run chase to beat Bijapur Bulls by four wickets to book their spot in the semis in the Mantri Karnataka Premier League(KPL) at the Chinnaswamy stadium.

Batting first the Bulls had put up a challenging score of 174 for 8 in their quota of 20 overs. JP Shetty was the top scorer for the Bulls with a well made half century(51). While openers R Khande and M Beerali who had got the Bulls off to a decent start contributed 25 and 36 runs respectively.
D Patil chipped in with 27 runs as well to help the Bulls post the challenging score.

For the Diamonds bowling, experienced campaigner Sunil Joshi was decent giving away just 24 runs in his four overs. Rajesh was amongst the wicket, with three important scalps. Yere Goud picked up two wickets as well.

Chasing the Bulls challenging score, Diamonds rode on Mayank Agarwal(29 off 15 balls), Pavan Desh Pandey(52 off 32 balls) at the top of the order and a breezy innings down the order by Bharat Kumar(40 off 29 balls) to overhaul the target set forth by the Bulls. The Diamonds reached the target with two balls to spare.

Diamonds are leading the KPL standings and with the win against the Bulls, became the first side to book a semi-final spot this season.

Bulls are placed third in the KPL standings.
