Tait ruled out for two months

Australia paceman Shaun Tait has been ruled out of the ODI series against India this month and at against Sri Lanka at home in November after undergoing an elbow surgery on Friday.

"Shaun Tait underwent corrective elbow surgery this afternoon for a chronic elbow complaint and his return to cricket will be determined by the speed of his recovery from surgery," Cricket Australia's doctor Trefor James said according to Cricinfo report.

"It is not anticipated he will be able to play within the next two months."

The injury could also sideline the fast bowler from the World Cup, 2011 Australian squad as the selectors are due to make squad announcement for the same on December.

Tait was part of the South Australian Redbacks team which played well in the Champions League T20 until losing out in the semi-finals against Chevrolet Warriors. Tait was a key man for the Redbacks throughout the series.
