Yuvraj hits double ton Vs Mumbai

Yuvraj Singh registered a thumping double century for Rest of India against Mumbai, in the fourth day's play in Jaipur.

Resuming the fourth day's play at 45/ 1, the Rest of India side finished off with 387/3 declared with Yuvraj Singh doing the bulk of the scoring. Determined Yuvraj, who was axed from the national team for the tour of Australia had a point to prove. He failed to shine in the first innings falling cheaply for 4 runs, but in the second innings made sure that he didn't let go off the opportunity.

With a strike rate of over 100 per cent, the left-handed batsman finished off with unconquered 203. He hit 28 boundaries and five sixes in his innings.

A Mukund(63) and S Badrinath(61) hit half centuries before they were dismissed by Ramesh Powar.

The target was a mammoth 782 for the team from Mumbai.

In the first innings, the Rest of India side had posted a mammoth score of 668 allout with A Mukund(162), Parthiv Patel(125), S Badrinath(94), Virat Kholi(90)and S Dhawan(83) making big contributions.

In reply, the team from Mumbai had just managed to make 274 runs in their first innings. Wasim Jaffer(71) at the top of the order was the only batsman who offered resistance.
Piyush Chawla for Rest of India picked up seven wickets.

The Rest of India side did not chose to enforce the follow-on on day 3.

Chasing 782, the team from Mumbai are 79/0 at stumps, day 4. Jaffer who looked in fine touch in the first innings once again proved his mettle as he is 46 unbeaten with Rahane(21*) at the other end.
