Malik discarded for S.A series

Former Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik, has been left out from the Pakistan 15 man squad to face South Africa on a neutral venue starting late this month.

Media reports also suggested that wicket keeper batsman Kamran Akmal is doubtful for the series as he is suffering from an abdominal problem. He will have to undergo a fitness test before being confirmed for the squad.

Pakistan is scheduled to play two Twenty20, five ODIs and two Tests against South Africa which is going to be hosted by Abu Dhabi at Dubai.

Pakistan Cricket Selection Committee will have to find a replacement for the suspended Salman Butt to lead the Pakistan Test team.

Butt was suspended along with pacers Mohammad Asif and Aamer following charges of spot-fixing during the Lord's test played against England.

Meanwhile, senior batsman Misbah-ul-Haq has been included in the squad. He will be making a comeback after a long layoff.
