KARACHI: Younis Khan former Pakistan captain has been issued with a notice form Pakistan Cricket Board(PCB) on Saturday stating to initiate legal proceedings against him and reimposing the ban, if he fails to contact them within a week.
The Board refused to give clearance to the decision of considering him for the side against South Africa series until he meets the Chairman of the Board Ijaz Butt and seeks pardon from him.
Younis has been given a weeks timweto meet the Board failing to do which the ban on him might be re imposed.
"He has basically been told that he must come forward to clarify his position and resolve his case and if he does not respond the Board will issue him a fresh showcause notice and move to re-impose a ban on him," sources say.
Younis has been again looked over for the upcoming South African series and the appointing of Misbah-ul-Haq as the captain for the series has surprised many.
Although, the chief selector for Mohsin Khan for Pakistan cricket confirmed Younis as the selectors first choice for the series, but the PCB denied to give this decision a green signal.
"We needed a senior player to strengthen our batting line-up," Mohsin said.
"Our first choice was Younis Khan but we didn't get any clearance (from the PCB), after which we discussed the option of recalling Misbah and decided to go for it," he added
