Following a terrific series against Australia, Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar has reclaimed the number one position in the Test rankings.
Tendulkar was the highest run-getter in the series with an aggregate total of 403 runs and helped India claim the Border-Gavaskar trophy 2-0. In the second and final Test match, he also registered his sixth double century and was adjudged the man of the match for his excellent show.
He was also awarded the man of the series.
The 37-year-old from Mumbai now has 891 points, according to the ICC ranking table on its website. Sri Lankan batsman Kumar Sangakkara is in the second spot with 874 points, followed by Virender Sehwag with 819 points.
