Islamabad : Misbah-ul-Haq has expressed his delight on being appointed as the captain of Pakistan Test team for the upcoming series against South Africa to be played in the United Arab Emirates(UAE).
PakPassion.net reported Misbah saying, "Im absolutely delighted, its a fantastic moment for me and I am extremely proud of the honor that has been bestowed upon me,"
The veteran expressed that he will be not under too much pressure, and also is optimistic that his personal performance will certainly help him in handling the captaincy more effectively.
"Personal performance is important. If I am playing well and scoring runs, then the captaincy should not present a problem to me," Misbah said.
"Captaincy is not easy in any format of the game, or at any level, but my most pressing concern is to perform well for the team," he added.
Revealing his approach that will be against the South Africans, the skipper said that it will be determined by the match situation rather than going for an all out attacking one.
"My style of captaincy and approach will depend upon the match situation. South Africa is a very good side, and it will be a series where I will have to have my wits about me. A good captain knows when to attack and when to defend, its almost like a sixth sense," Misbah said.
"He has to have that gut feeling on what he thinks may happen as a result of a bowling change, and have the knack of combining defence with attack, and to know when defence is the best form of attack," he added.
