Former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram has told that it is ridiculous to extend the tenure of Ijaz Butt as the chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board.
Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Ijaz Butt's tenure will end on Oct 31, 2010. He has asked for theextension of his tenure. During his realm, Pakistan cricket has been marred by a series of controversies. The terrorist attack on Sri Lankan team bus in Lahore and the spot-fixing scandal were happened when chaired the Board.
Critisizing Ijaz Butt for seeking another tenure, Wasim Akram told that he do not have the right to ask for another term.
"If Ijaz Butt has asked for another term then hats off to him. The whole of Pakistan and world cricket is after him. Pakistan cricket is in a mess, there is no leadership and amidst all this, to ask for another term, well what can I say. This shows that his advisors are not giving him the right directions," said Akram.
"Butt has been unable to hold forte. He is not a man in command. Pakistan cricket is in doldrums. There is no leadership and it was the chairman's role to keep all these things under check. He has failed," he added.
