Arch Ashes rivals to turn team-mates

It will soon be time for two of the Ashes arch-rivals to bury the hatchet and join forces. English wicketkeeper Matt Prior may be feeling the animosity between the two sides in the ongoing Ashes series, but he will have to make up with Aussie fast bowler Peter Siddle shortly as the two will figure shoulder-to-shoulder as part of the Australian domestic team Victoria Bushrangers, later this winter.

The 28-year-old Prior recently signed with the Bushrangers to take part in the domestic Twenty20 Big Bash tournament. Ironically, Prior made a century against the very same team in a England tour match earlier this month.

He is likely to play as a specialist batsman because Bushrangers already have a gloveman in Matthew Wade.

The news did not stop Siddle cranking up the sledging row by insisting that Prior did ask him outside for a brawl.

It followed their Perth tussle when Siddle bowled Prior after a string of bouncers and the England keeper gestured as though asking him to meet him at the car park. Siddle said: "Yeah, I think he did. I'd have backed myself!"
