This auction has been really surprising where some very big names like Brendon McCullum, Adam Gilchrist and Graeme Smith have not quite got the amount that everyone expected. But nevertheless the likes of Irfan Pathan, Robin Uthappa and Rohit Sharma will be laughing their way to the bank after franchisees doled out mind-boggling amounts to avail their services.

It will also be homecoming of sorts for Sreesanth who will now be playing for his home IPL franchisee- Team Kochi. But no such luck for Yuvraj Singh and probably that was expected after talks of his displeasure with Kings XI Punjab management.

Gautam Gambhir, a very sincere and hardworking cricketer is now the highest paid cricketer in IPL and congrats because he always deserved that. Time has turned full-circle for Zaheer Khan who started his IPL career with RCB and is back again after two seasons.

But then this auction will be remembered for bringing together Harbhajan Singh and Andrew Symonds under one flag and how apt is it that its Team Mumbai. After all Mumbai has always been a place synonymous with togetherness. Cheers.

Talented seamer R P Singh will now move from the Deccan Chargers to Team Kochi for Rs 2.3 crore.

Its raining money for the Pathan household. Irfan Pathan will now join the Delhi Daredevils for, hold your breaths, Rs 8.74 crore. Is he back in the reckoning for Team India?

If you thought Ganguly remaining unsold was a shock then here is the mother of all shocks, Chris Gayle has not found any takers. This auction is throwing up some real surprises. What next?

Maverick speedster S Sreesanth will be playing for his home franchisee team Kochi after they bought him for Rs 4.14 crore.

Swashbuckling Kiwi wicket-keeper batsman who led KKR in IPL 2 has been bought by Team Kochi by Rs 2.18 crore.

Kiwi skipper Daniel Vettori who played for the Delhi Daredevils in the previous seasons of IPL will join RCB for Rs 2.53 crore.

Right handed stylish batsman VVS Laxman who was an icon player for the Deccan Chargers will now be playing for the Kochi franchisee after they bagged him for Rs 1.84 crore.

South African T20 captain Johan Botha, has been retained by Rajasthan Royals for Rs 4.37 crore.

Hard hitting batsman Robin Uthappa has also been bagged by the Subroto Roy owned Team Pune for a astronomical sum of Rs 9.66 crore.

South African skipper Graeme Smith who opened the innings for Rajasthan Royals in the previous editions of IPL, will now be playing for the newly formed Team Pune after being acquired by them for Rs 2.3 crore.

Former India Captain Rahul Dravid has now been acquired by the Rajasthan Royals for Rs 2.3 crore. He led the RCB in the first edition of IPL and was a regular member of the Vijay Mallya owned franchisee.

Aussie great Adam Gilchrist who led Deccan Chargers to IPL 2 title has now been bought by the Kings XI Punjab for Rs 4.14 crore.

Kumar Sangakkara the Sri Lankan skipper who until now played for the Kings XI Punjab has been bagged by the Deccan Chargers for Rs 3.22 crore.

Expect some fireworks because Andrew Symonds is now a team mate of Harbhajan Singh as he has been bought by the Mumbai Indians for Rs 3.91 crore.

South African legend Jacques Kallis, easily the best performer for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the previous seasons of IPL will now be donning the Kolkata Knight Rider gear after the SRK owned franchisee bought him for Rs 5.06 crore.

Newly appointed Australian T20 captain Cameron White who last played for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the previous seasons of the IPL has been bought by the Deccan Chargers for Rs 5.06 crore.

In a major disappointment, former India skipper Sourav Ganguly has remained unsold after no bid for him by any of the franchisees.

Royal Challengers Bangalore has acquired the services of A B de Villers after bagging him for Rs 5.06 crore. For all of the IPL's previous seasons he played for Delhi Daredevils.

Former Sri Lankan skipper Mahela Jayawardene, who played for the Kings XI Punjab in all the previous seasons of IPL is now a member of Team Kochi after their succesful bid of Rs 6.75 crore.His former Kings XI Punjab teammate Yuvraj Singh will now be a Pune Warrior after they successfully bid him for a mind-boggling sum of Rs 8.28 crore.

Yousuf Pathan, whose base price was $300,000 has been bought by the Kolkata Knight Riders for a whopping Rs 9.66 crore after an intense bidding among the franchisees.

Zaheer Khan will be back again for the RCB after being bought by the Vijay Mallya owned IPL franchisee for Rs 4.14 crore. He had earlier played for the RCB in the inaugural season of IPL before being transferred to the Mumbai Indians for the next two seasons. Kiwi batsman Ross Taylor is now a member of the Rajasthan Royals after they got hold of him in the IPL auction for Rs 4.6 crore.

Gautam Gambhir, as anticipated has been bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for a whopping $2.4 mn or Rs 11.04 crore. Tilekratne Dilshan, Gambhir's team mate at Delhi Daredevil will now be seen donning Royal Challengers Bangalore colours after being bagged by them for Rs 2.99 crore.
