Praveen, Sreesanth unlikely for 1st ODI

India is facing quite a quandary. The touring side scheduled to play their first one-day match of a 5-game ODI series against South Africa, at Durban, may be deprived of the services of two of the premier fast bowlers in Praveen Kumar and S Sreesanth.

While the 24-year-old Praveen has apparently aggravated an arm injury during India's T20 game against South Africa on Sunday, Jan 9, S Sreesanth is reportedly down with a tennis elbow which would also make it difficult for him to bowl.

Praveen was seen bowling in the nets on Monday with a heavily-bandaged arm. He has been hit with injury or ill-health often in recent times, the last occasion being during New Zealand's tour of India. Praveen had to sit out the first two one-dayers of the 5-match series because he had contracted a viral fever and was not fit to play.

Praveen is the latest entry on an already long injury list which consists of Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir and S Sreesanth. The opening pair from Delhi, returned home after the Test series.

With January 19 being the last date for announcing the final World Cup squad, the Indian camp will hope that they can home in on their definite squad for the mega-event during this one-day series in South Africa.
