Indian batting trump card Sachin Tendulkar has become the latest to join India's list of walking wounded one-day players and is due to return to India. While it has not be ascertained as to the exact nature of his injury, it is most likely related to the leg cramp that Sachin contracted while batting in the second one-dayer against South Africa at Johannesburg.
His departure leaves the touring side with quite a quandary as to who will fill his very big shoes bin the opener's slot. Already Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir are out of the reckoning as they have also returned home with injuries, along with pace bowler Praveen Kumar.
Meanwhile, speedster S Sreesanth is also suffering from some kind of an arm injury and may not recover to play in this series at all.
Tendulakr has found his return to one-day cricket after nearly a year quite difficult to handle and has been out of sorts in the opener's position, managing to make just 7 and 24 in the two one-dayers he haqs played.
