Sri Lanka and the West Indies will have a last chance to slug it out before the World Cup commences. The two dies will be meeting in Sri Lanka for a three-match one day series beginning Jan 31, 2011 after their 5-match ODI series was cancelled in early Dec, owing to incessant rain in the island country.
The subcontinent's second monsoon has given way to a dry winter and conditions appear favourable for cricket in Sri Lanka.
The Windies will be relishing this opportunity as they will get to show their mettle in subcontinent condition ahead of the mega-tournament next month, which will be taking place across the same region.
All three matches will be at stadiums which will host World Cup matches. The first one-dayer is in Hambantota on January 31, and the other two are at the revamped R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, on February 4 and 6.
