Chairman of the BCCI's selection committee has refused to address grievances of fans over the omission of fast bowler S Sreesanth from India's World Cup squad. Speaking to reporters in Thrivananthapuram, Srikkanth indicated that he was not an official spokesperson for the board and would be in contravention of regulations if he said anything more about the team selection.
"The process is over. I have to take permission from BCCI if I want to make any comment on the selection", Srikkanth told reporters after inaugurating the work of a cricket stadium at Thumba.
But during his speech, Srikkanth lauded the performance of Sreesanth in Test matches. "Let Kerala produce more bowlers like Sreesanth", he said.
He also expressed a wish that the KCA would build more cricket infrastructure in Kerala which would help players from the state to come up.
The stadium is being developed at cost of Rs 4 crore by Kerala Cricket Association in association with St Xavier's College at Thumba. It was envisaged as a full-fledged ground with a new turf wickets, dressing room, indoor nets and other facilities for staging first class matches.
