Ganguly questions omission of Sreesanth

Kolkata, Jan.27: Former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly on Thursday has said that had he been a national selector, he would have included Kerala pacer S. Sreesanth in the Indian squad for the World Cup that is to be played in the subcontinent from next month.

Ganguly said Sreesanth's non-inclusion was a mistake.
"Sreesanth was in a good form during the New Zealand and South Africa series. He should have been included in the squad. I don''t understand why he was dropped," he said.

Ganguly is already on record as questioning the decision to pick only one wicketkeeper for the World Cup in skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

He asked what would India do if Dhoni is injured during the 40 day extravaganza.

The selectors have picked four medium pacers -- Zaheer Khan, Ashish Nehra, Praveen Kumar and Munaf Patel for the World Cup.

India are clubbed in Group-B in the World Cup along with Bangladesh, England, South Africa, West Indies, Ireland and The Netherlands.

India will play the inaugural match of the World Cup against Bangladesh in Mirpur on February 19.
