The man who claimed his heart was broken because he didn't make it to India's World Cup XV when it was announced on Jan 17, 2011, has just had it mended! The Indian selectors have issued a confirmation that they have named Indian fast bowler S Sreesanth as the replacement for Praveen Kumar.
However, earlier in the day, a leading news channel had learnt that Team India would have prefered Vinay Kumar over S Sreesanth to replace the injured Praveen Kumar. The team management and selectors apparently differ on Sreesanth's inclusion.
Praveen has been grappling with an elbow injury, which kept him out of the ODI series against South Africa. It was earlier reported that the medium pacer aggravated it, putting his availability for the World Cup in doubt.
Praveen was undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore, when selectors took the call to mot him from the squad.
