London, Feb 10:English ODI cricket is all set to bid farewell to another glowing stalwart in batsman Kevin Pietersen. According to a leading English newspaper, the South African-born player will be hanging up his one-day gloves after the World Cup 2011 as he wishes to spend more time with his family.
The 30-year-old batsman has played 110 ODIs so far, and is struggling in the 50-over format since last two years. His average has slipped from around 50 to just over 41 and he has managed a lone half-century during that period.
The reports have come shortly after Pietersen went public in criticizing England"s overwhelming schedule, which means they fly to Bangladesh for the World Cup after the grueling three-month tour to Australia, including the high-profile Ashes.
