West Indies Vs Netherlands
Staring time: 2:30 pm IST
Venue: New Delhi

If one gauges that the present English team is superior in talent and form to the West Indies outfit; and when one considers how much the Netherlands stretched the former in their match last Tuesday; then one will infer that the Windies are in for a not-so-easy time when they take on the Dutch on Monday, Feb 28.

Will N'lands pull an England on the WI?

However, the team from the Caribbean will be secure from the fact that they have given these opponents an utter hiding in the last and only encounter they faced each other in.

On that occasion, which unfolded on July 10, 2007, the Windies bundled out the Dutch for a shockingly poor total of 80 in 31.2 overs, before rampaging home by 10 wickets in 14.3 overs. Dutch batsman Alexei Kervezee top-scored for his side with just 22 while only two of his other team-mates got into double figures and barely. In response, Chris Gayle led the charge with an unbeaten 50.

A little more than half of the Dutch team remain from that time while not a lot of the Windies' side has changed. However, the Netherlands' prize allrounder Ryan Ten Doechate is a relatively new entrant and going by his stellar innings of 119 off 110 balls against the English last week, he could prove quite a handful for the Windies.

Doeschaste, who is being hailed as the "Kapil Dev of the Netherlands" owing to the fact that he took 2 wickets against England as well, will be someone the West Indies will be training their guns on. Not to be forgotten are his team-mates Tom Cooper who made 47 in the same match, Peter Borren who scored an unbeaten 35 and Tom De Grooth, 28 not out.

The key men for the West Indies will be the Bravo brothers, who together put on over 100 runs for their side against South Africa in Thursday's match and Kieron Pollard, who though out for a duck in that match, bowled a tight spell of 1/37 in 7.5 overs. Chris Gayle, is due for some runs and will looking forward to scoring big against the Dutch as anyway, he sports the best West Indies' batting record against this side.
