London, Mar 29: Former England captain Michael Vaughan has said that fast bowler Stuart Broad should be appointed as the next one-day captain if Andrew Strauss steps down from the role.
"I just think the one-day team might grow under someone like Stuart Broad who plays it pretty tough. I think it would be the right move," the BBC quoted Vaughan, as saying.
"We may have to change something, go in with a different approach, go in with a different man in the helm - a bowler that bats," he added.
Vaughan had earlier said that he expects Strauss to quit one-day cricket following the team's World Cup quarterfinal exit.
England was knocked out of the World Cup following their thumping 10-wicket defeat to Sri Lanka in last Saturday's quarterfinal at Colombo's R.Premadasa Stadium.
