According to sources, KTK is in talks with Ganguly to join their side after it had decided to turn away leg-spinning all-rounder Steven Smith.Ganguly may even be called upon to lead KTK when present captain Mahela Jayawardene quits in favour of Sri Lanka's tour of England beginning May 14.
Smith has not played in any of the two Kochi matches of the League due to a niggling injury and is unlikely to recover anytime soon.
Soon after the player auction, the media was abuzz with rumours that the Kerala franchise was in teh process of signing up Dada. But both parties subsequently denied the claims.
Dada who had an unsuccessful stint as captain of the Kolkata Knight Riders found no takers in this year's IPL player auction. Ganguly bears a batting average of 27.07 and a strike rate of 109.74 in the IPL.
