The Delhi Daredevil's innings began on a sobre but stable note with a four coming off each of the first two overs, before David Warner smashed Wayne Parnell for 3 fours in the 3rd over as the score moved onto 24/0. Then Sehwag got into act, smashing two boundaries off Wagh in the 4th over as the Daredevils climbed to 35/0.
After exchanging some words with Alfonso Thomas, Warner smashed the pacer for a four and two sixes to bring up the Daredevils 50 in the 5th over. Then Parnell bowled a messy 6th over, conceding 15 runs including 5 wides and a four to Warner. The Devils were cruising at 67/0.
Then with the score at 75/0, Warner was run out for 46 off 28 balls, while going for a second. Then in the 8th over, Sehwag was let off the hook when he was dropped due to a collision between Yuvraj and Mishra as 10 runs came off the over. then Sehwag smacked Ryder for a four before he was bowled for 37 off 23 balls. The Daredevils however, were at a healthy 98/2 in 10 overs with Irfan Pathan at the crease. Pathan then smashed Abhishek Jhunjhunwala for a six to round off the 11th over at 109/2.
But in the 13th over, Yuvraj seriously pegged back the visitors when he had Pathan caught by Wagh in the deep for 14 off 16 and then had Nama Ojha stumped for a 11 off 9 as the Daredevils slipped to 116/4 in 12.4 overs. The slide continued with Rahul Sharma trapping Matthew Wade in front for 3 as the score read a dismal 120/5 in 14 overs.
With 68 runs required off 36 balls, a desperate Venugopal Rao slammed a six off Yuvraj in the 15th over, while Aaron Finch took a four off Yuvraj in the 17th over. Finch then took 2 runs to bring up the Daredevils 150, before smashing two sixes on the trot off Wagh. The equation was reduced to 24 off 14 balls.
Then in an eventful 19th over, Yuvraj caught and bowled Finch for 25 off 12 balls to see Venugopal Rao smash him for a six and a four before finding the fielder in the deep. With 8 required off the last over, James Hopes clobbered Ryder for a six and a four to win the match with 3 wickets and 4 balls to spare.
