In the 6th over, Kohli went after Bollinger, getting him away for two fours nas the score moved onto 44/1 in 6 overs. Two overs later, Kohli brought up RCB's 50 when he ran a single off Dwayne Bravo.
Then Gayle welcomed Suresh Raina to the crease by lofting him for a straight six, before Kohli cut the same bowler for a four and Gayle rounded off the over with another boundary. The Royal Challngwers Bnagalore were in a healthy position at 71/1 after 9 overs.
Gayle then struck Albie Morkel for his fourth six as Bangalore scaled to 80/1 in 9.4 overs before Kohli was dismissed by the same bowler for 31 off 29 balls. In the 13th over, Gayle edged Bravo very fine to pick up another four and with that notch up his 50 of just 34 balls. In Bravo's following over, Gayle struck another six to bring uip the RCB's 100 in 14.1 overs.
In the 18th over, Gayle had a slice of luck when he was dropped by Raina. He made the bowler immediately pay for that error by smashing a six and a four off him, before running a single to seal the win.
