Kapil accept's BCCI's invite
Bangalore, May 28: In a significant development, the BCCI has extended Kapil Dev, the legendary Indian all-rounder to be a part of the programme meant for the felicitation of the 2011 World Cup winning squad.

Reports inform that Kapil Dev, the captain of the 1983 World Cup winning team has also accepted the invitation.

It can be recalled that relation between the BCCI and Kapil Dev were almost severed after the latter joined hand with Essel-group to promote the Indian Cricket League. The Indian Cricket League, which has almost been shut down, was a T20 event that claimed to be meant to unearth talented cricketers from India.

Analysts said, that the event was a gimmick to cash in on the anger in India after the national team crashed out of the 2007 Cricket World Cup.

However, now that BCCI has extended an olive branch to the 'Haryana Hurricane', one can expect the legendary cricketer to be more actively involved in the development of the game. Let's just hope that invitation ends one of the most bitter relations of the BCCI and heralds a new era for Indian Cricket.
