Tremlett wants bouncy pitches vs India

London, Jun 24: England paceman Chris Tremlett wants the pitches in his country for the forthcoming Test series against India starting next month to be bouncy as he aims to capitalise to the visitors' discomfort on such surfaces.

Tremlett, considered a vital component of the England Test side, said he cannot wait to challenge the Indian batsmen in the four-match Test series starting on July 20.

"I played against them four years ago and it was my first taste of Test cricket. I am pretty sure with my bounce and things they found me hardest bowler to face out of the three (other two James Anderson and Stuart Broad)," Tremlett stated.

"Jimmy Anderson is obviously a great bowler but I offer something different with my bounce, pace, etc. If we get pitches like we did at the Rose Bowl with a bit more bounce I am sure they are going to find it uncomfortable," he was quoted as saying by ''Daily Mail''.

Former England skipper Geoffrey Boycott had said that Tremlett could be the key man during the Test series against India and the fast bowler said he is looking forward to carry on the good form of the just-concluded Sri Lanka series.

"I am probably the tallest bowler around in the world so I do offer something a bit different. My bounce can be awkward on certain pitches so hopefully I can keep doing what I am doing and causing a threat to batsmen from any team.

"Being in top 10 of the world is fantastic and you do have to pinch yourself a little bit. I want to keep performing and keeping consistent. I am happy with the way it has gone. I contributed to the win in Cardiff and to get five wickets at my home ground - the Rose Bowl - last week was very special.

"And it was great to get man of the match - the first time for England - and to back it up with man of the series was very special as well," he said about the Sri Lanka series.
