Mumbai, July 19: Just a day after Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh's mother issued a legal notice against United Spirits Ltd for allegedly ridiculing cricketer in a McDowell's No.1 commercial, UB Group chairman Vijay Mallya confirmed that the liquor major is not planning to pull the controversial advertising campaign off air.
Mallya added that his lawyers would recommend the next course of action while USL's rival Pernod Ricard said it had not consulted Bhajji on his legal move but will support the all-rounder in the latest stand-off.
"It was not meant to attack Harbhajan Singh personally. It was just a spoof between two brands. We have received a long-winded legal notice and our lawyers are studying it," Mallya told a leading Indian newspaper.
"There are several TV programmes that spoof our politicians. What will happen if all of them start sending legal notices?" he added.
