Biggest Test victories in terms of runs

Bangalore, Aug 3: When England thumped India by a whopping margin of 319 runs in the second Test of the four match series at Lord's, many wondered if this was the biggest ever victory margin in terms of run. While this is England's biggest every victory margin in terms of runs against India, the highest such difference also belongs to them.

England beat Australia by an innings and 579 runs in a Test in 1938. This was the match in which the Poms riding on Len Hutton's 364 scored a monstrous total of 903/7 before bundling out the Australians for 201 and 123 in the first and second innings respectively. Interestingly, this was also the match where Sir Don Bradman sprained his ankle while bowling.
