India's cup of injury woes spills over

Bangalore, Aug 3: All-rounder Yuvraj Singh has joined the seemingly never ending list of Indian players who are getting injured on this disastrous tour of England. The stylish south-paw was peppered with short-pitched deliveries in the second innings of the Trent Bridge Test and was hit on his left hand before being dismissed for 8 of 32 deliveries.

According to reports, Virat Kohli has been called up as a reinforcement for the injury depleted Indian squad.

Earlier today, Harbhajan Singh was ruled out for the remainder of the four-match Test series due to a grade I tear of abdominal muscle. Reports say that left-arm spinner, who had received the BCCI's permission to play for Surrey in the County Championships, has also been asked to join the Indian squad.

India are trailing the four-match Test series 2-0 and are in real danger of losing their world number one crown if England beat them by a two Test margin. The next match of the series starts on Aug 10 at Edgbaston.
