Canterbury, Aug 26: After handing out a comprehensive beating to Sussex in the first limited overs practice game in their tour of England, India on Aug 26 take on Kent in a day-night game at St Lawrence Ground, Canterbury.
After giving their young turks a chance in the game against Sussex, India will most likely extend that privilege to the others who haven't made the cut yet. And among them would be the likes of Ajinkya Rahane and Varun Aaron.
Given the injury to Gambhir, there are chances that India might look for a regular opener in the ODI format and allow, Dravid to come in at one down. If that does happen, then they have to choose from Parthiv Patel and Rahane. While Parthiv did well in the game against Sussex, Rahane might too get a chance.
But the guy, whose performance is being eagerly anticipated is Varun Aaron, who is touted to be the fastest Indian bowler on scene. Should he play, there will be more eyes on the speed gun than his bowling figures.
Sachin Tendulkar alongwith M S Dhoni are expected to sit out the game, while Dravid may also prefer to be on the sidelines to make sure that he gets enough rest on what has so far been a very tiring tour for him.
