New Indian Squad; Harbhajan dropped

Chennai, Sept 29: After suffering from abdominal muscle strain and poor performance, managing only two wickets in the first two tests in England, Off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has been dropped from the Indian squad for the first two ODIs against England on October 14 and 17.

Leg-spinner Rahul Sharma from Pune Warriors and off-spinner R Ashwin were included in the squad for the first two ODI's.

Concerned with pacers the selectors went for karnataka medium-pacer Sreenath Aravind and Varun Aaron who was part of the ODI squad in England but did not play, will replace Zaheer Khan, Munaf Patel and Ishanth Sharma who were ruled out due to injury. Meanwhile Ashish Nehra and Yusuf Pathan were fit but were not selected.

The first two games of the five-match ODI series against England will be played in Hyderabad on October 14 and New Delhi on October 17. The other matches will be held in Mohali (Oct 20), Mumbai (Oct 23) and Kolkata (Oct 25).

Kolkata will also conduct the lone Twenty20 match against England on October 29.

Gautam Gambhir, who missed the ODI series in the tour of England because of concussion, returned to the squad which will be without the services of a host of seniors including Sachin Tendulkar,  Virender Sehwag and Yuvraj Singh because of injuries.
