Visakhapatnam, Oct 1: India today defeated West Indies by 124 runs in the quadrangular series of the Under-19 cricket matches being played at Port Stadium here.
The not-out stints by Akshdeep Nath (81) and Kumar Debrat (37) helped India crush the Caribbeans after India scored 315 losing four wickets in 50 overs.
Akshdeep Nath scored 81 runs with four fours and four sixes in 64 balls. Hanuma Vihari made 68 runs in 88 balls with 9 fours, followed by Unmukt Chand who hit 66 runs in 79 balls with 6 fours and 2 sixes. B Aparajith scored 42 runs in 53 balls with 3 fours and Kumar Deobrat hit 37 runs in 16 balls with 2 fours and 3 sixes.
Chasing the target, West Indies were bowled out at 191 in 43.5 overs with successful spell from B Aparajith who took 4 wickets for 38 runs, while Kamal Passi, Vikash Mishra and Shreyas Gopal claimed 2 wickets each.
In another tie, Sri Lanka defeated Australia by 86 runs at ACA-VDCA stadium at Pothinamalliahpalem, Srilanka scored 225 in 48.4 overs on contribution of 56 runs from Lahiru Madushanka who hit 2 fours and 1 six.
Billy Stanlake of Australia claimed four wickets for 37 in 8.5 overs, while Ashton Turner took 3 wickets for 33 runs. James Muirhead took 2 wickets for 42 runs in 10 overs.
The Aussies were all out for 139 in 37.3 overs with only Travis Head and James Peirson scored in double digits of 39 and 29 respectively.
Saranga Rajaguru took 4 wickets for 28 runs in 8.3 overs and Tharindu Kaushal 2 wickets for 15 runs in 6 overs.
Earlier, batting for Sri Lanka, Lahiru Madushanka scored 56 runs not out in 77 balls with 2 fours and 1 six.
Niroshan Dickwella made 23 runs in 24 balls hitting 4 fours and Tharindu Kaushal made 23 runs in 39 balls with 4 fours.
From the Aussie side, James Muirhead took 2 wickets for 42 runs in 10 overs.
