No Aussie involved in match-fixing

Melbourne, Oct 14: Australia's Test and ODI captain Michael Clarke is "very confident" that none of his teammates are involved in match-fixing and says he is surprised by the allegations made against them by a London-based bookie.

Australians were dragged into the controversy by bookie Mazhar Majeed during the ongoing spot-fixing trial in London. But the players from Down Under were eventually given a clean chit by an ICC investigator.

"For me personally, it's not the Australian way. Never in my time have I experienced a conversation with anybody about any such thing," Clarke was quoted as saying by newspapers here.

"I can't really talk on behalf of anyone else, but match fixing to me, it's a given that you just stay away."

"There's obviously been a couple of occasions when guys have been approached and that's been reported to our team manager and the ICC, as we experienced last summer, so all the boys in the Australian team are aware that it is happening, it is going on," he added before a boarding a flight to South Africa for the tour of South Africa.

"But it's never involved me and I'm very confident it's never involved any of the Australian players."
