Goa, Oct 15: Medium pacer Gaurish Gauns returned with a five-wicket haul to help Goa take a crucial first innings lead of 15 runs against Chhattisgarh on the second day of the U-22 C K Nayudu four-day cricket tournament here today.
Bowlers dominated the proceedings on the second day as well with as many as 12 wickets tumbling. Replying to Goa's 134, Chattisgarh were bundled out for 119 runs in their first innings.
At stumps, Goa were reeling at 95 for the loss of five wickets in their second essay, thus taking an overall lead of 110 runs.
Gauns was the hero of the day for Goa with figures of five for 54 runs. For Chhattisgarh Atul Sharma top-scored with 30, followd by Prakhar Roy (21), Harpreet Singh (17) and Pankaj Haldar who remained unbeaten on 24.
In Goa's second innings, Suraj Dongre's scored 44 while Sumiran Amonkar made 15 before they got out. At stumps Keenan Vaz and Tushar Narvekar were at the crease on 14 and two runs respectively.
For Chhattisgarh, Vishal Singh Khuswah and Harpreet Singh picked up two wicket wickets each.
