New Delhi, Nov 11: Former India captain Kapil Dev said Harbhajan Singh, dropped from the India squad, will benefit from the challenge he is getting from young tweakers Pragyan Ojha and Ravichandran Ashwin.
"I think it is good for Harbhajan that he is getting tough competition from Ashwin and Ojha. This will only help Bhajji to emerge stronger," said Kapil on Thursday.
Kapil backed the ace off-spinner to make a strong comeback.
"Harbhajan is a tough guy and I think he will make a successful comeback in international cricket. It is just a matter of time."
Harbhajan was overlooked again as the Indian selectors named an unchanged 15-member squad on Thursday for the second Test against West Indies starting in Kolkata on Monday.
What made matters worse for Harbhajan was that he went wicket-less while leading Punjab in the Ranji Trophy match against Uttar Pradesh.
Harbhajan was dropped during the four-match ODI series against England at home before missing out on the first Test against West Indies.
The 31-year-old suffered a stomach injury during the second Test in England and was ruled out of the last two matches and the limited-overs series that followed.
