New Delhi, Nov 22: India climb to the 2nd spot in the ICC ratings after South Africa lost to Australia in the second and final test at Wanderers on Sunday.
India, is at No 2 with 117 rating points as they play Windies in the third test at Mumbai. With one point ahead of South Africa, India looks comfortably settled at No 2 as they get two valuable points if they win the Mumbai test against West Indies adding its tally to 119.
Earlier, South Africa were placed at the 2nd spot as they had secured 119 rating points before the start of the home series against Australia. Rather than ending up in a draw, if South Africa had won the second and the final test against Australia, the African team could have narrowed the margin with England which is leading the table with 125 rating points.
